Little Man is on Day 3 of Pre-K but it was Day 1 for carpool. This is a rite of passage that is very emotional and anxious... for Mommy. We pulled up and the back door was opened and my son was helped out of the car. I looked back at him as this nice carpool lady helped him with his backpack. He reached in with a smile and grabbed George before they closed the door and forced me to drive way, sobbing. It was a good thing traffic was ridiculous because it provided me with plenty of time to reflect on how much this child has grown and changed; and also how he has remained the same. No. I did not snap a shot of him outside the car this morning. I was too busy trying to keep it together long enough for him not to see me cry. But I did pull this picture out of the archives. Little Man with George. George was a gift from my dear friend Shirley and he has had George with him from the moment his passport was stamped in America.
Oh and Little Girl's homework will surely be the end of me. Last night we had to do a "Fact Family." And by we, I mean Little Girl and Daddy because I had NO idea what this meant. My homework would have had her send in a sheet of paper that said, "Fact. I have a family and their names are..." I think I need a tutor.
