Let me start by saying that I was dead set against this whole "take the bus" thing from the beginning. I never took a yellow school bus in my entire life; we
were dragged walked to school! My husband, on the other hand, BIG fan of the bus. Apparently our daughter is as well. One day in the American school system and she's all wanting to take the bus ... I know when I'm outnumbered (eventually). So, I conceded the commute TO school and we stood outside before the sun even made a proper appearance this morning to see her off on the Big Bad Yellow School Bus for the first time.
"If you let ME drive, I'll take the car instead of the bus to school!"
Mama holdin' on tight, not wanting to let her go:
... and off she goes toward a new adventure:
I will admit that this is a lot easier than sitting in morning carpool traffic and I got to work an hour earlier than yesterday. I still have the honor of picking her up from school and that will not change. I love picking her up, seeing her smile and listening to her chatter about school as we drive off to
Target experience life together as mother and daughter.
